The very last

I never had written a blog before, so this is a new experience for me. It's kinda bizarre to write about me and my thoughts in Internet, although is interesting to read the thoughts of my partners too.
Read about my classmates in their blog entrances was very fun, in that way you can learn a little about them, maybe not deep themes of them but little details of their personality and their lives
I don't know how much improve my writing, but I'm conscious that I learnt a little more about how to write or spoke in english

I believe that the blog could have some continuity along the semester, I'm not sure how but maybe there could be some connection between the different blog entrances.
I'm not sure about which theme I would like to include, maybe this semester we miss writing about music. I think that that would be an interesting topic that people like to talk about and comment between them.
Well, in general I think that this way of practice the language is ok, because we think about how express our opinions and how organize the text in a coherent way, using the english language (what, for me, was a difficult work sometimes).

ICEI strikes back

In the strike there a event that every student know: the assemblies.
In this assemblies people discuss about the reforms of education that government propose, beside to define the "characterization" of the strike (some people discuss about the nature of the strike: if this is a national movement, a fight for national education: or if is a ICEI movement only, a fight for get better conditions in our institute).

One of the most discussed topics is the violence of the police force when students go to march. is very common to hear about a partner of ICEI who was taken for the cops.
In the strikes there is created commissions which have the job of organize the different activities of the strike.
Every week there are movilizations like the little marches for the surroundings the campus, or the protests in national Tv channel buildings.
In spite of the organization of the CECO and the job of different political movements of the institute, the adhesion of the strike is very low. The best example of this is that in the assemblies, in the most of the cases, there is no quorum.

The film script class.

My favourite class in university this semester is the film script class. In this class, the teacher teach us how to create a cinematographic idea, how to create characters for a film and how to write a script.
This is my favourite class because someday I like to be a scriptwriter. Also, the teacher makes an interactive class in which all of we talk about the elements of script in many different movies.

This course is structured in a way in which we begin learning about script structure (like the classical structure), the creation of a storyline and a synopsis, and the construction of characters (even we learn about archetypes); then, we start to write the script of a short movie that we will record in the end of the semester (in fact, this short movie is the final exam of the semester). This script writing is a grupal writing. For me, this is a very good way to create a film because the collective work generate better results, because the idea that born in the imagination of a person grows with the imagination of another.

Carbon footprint and recycle

       Ø What’s your carbon footprint?

My carbon footprint is 3,42 metric tons.

Ø What’s the average carbon footprint of a person?

In Chile, te average carbon footprint of a person is 3,87 metric tons, so my carbon footprint is slightly below average.

Questions:
Ø Hand washing dishes can use up to _50_ % more of water than using an efficient dishwasher.
Ø Only about _8_ % of global energy comes from renewables.
Ø True or false? Appliances that are turned off don’t use any electricity. _FALSE_
Ø Can you make paper out of hemp?
Yes, and it needs less land acreage to grow, is more recyclable and it is more natural than others ways to make paper.

The best 3 tips:
-(tip nº4) Try to consume products with the minimal packaging.
-(tip nº10) Use reusable bags when you go shopping to the market.
-(tip nº6) Smash plastic bottles to minimize the size of the garbage in the recycle can.

My trip for London

The monday in the afternoon I'm going to  rest because I will be really tired after the journey to London.
All the week I'm going to visit cultural places. These visits will be in the week to avoid crowds.
In the weekend I'm not going to visit any attraction because I want to know the streets and the life of the city.

The (last) samurai of cinema

One of my favourite film directors in the world is the japanese Akira Kurosawa.
Kurosawa was descendant from a samurai lineage, and this influenced in the stories of his most famous films, like Ran, Throne of blood or Seven Samurais.

Kurosawa began his career during the world war II, in the japanese empire, so his first movies were propagandistic movies. In the 50's Kurosawa began to be known in the West because his film Rashomon, because he won the best foreign film oscar with this movie.

The themes of Kurosawa's films are the human tragedies like war, poverty, greed. His characters aren't heroes, in many cases they are victims of the fate or victims of his own acts. Is for that I like Kurosawa's movies, because the stories he tells aren't stories of good and evil, are stories with contradictories characters, or maybe more realistic characters.
He adapted books of Shakespeare, Dostoevsky and Tolstoy.
The main character in most of the Kurosawa's films was played by Toshiro Mifune, actor that worked in 16 of his films, turned by kurosawa in the iconic image of a samurai.

My "chinese food"

Sometimes, when I have to cook to myself (only for myself), I like to prepare mongolian meat, because chinese food is one of the foods that I like it more, but my family doesn't like it, so I cook it only when I'm alone.

To cook mongolian meat, I chop the meat and I fry it in a wok with soja sauce. Then, I chop  scallions and soybean sprouts ("dragon teeth") and I put them in the wok. Finally, I sprinkle aji no moto and cornstarch. Generally I eat this meal with chaufan rice, another preparation of chinese food (well, what we know as "chinese food")
For me, cook is an entertaining activity. I would like to cook everyday, but I can't because I'm never in my home.
I think the meals you cook for yourself have a better flavor (or maybe just I imagine it).
Anyway, it is important to know how to cook, and most important, learn how to cook your favourites meals.
Enjoy!

A stray dog

I don't travel too much, but when I do'it I try to get a picture of a stray dog from there.

I took this picture in the holidays from last year in Lican Ray, when I visit that town with my family. I saw the dog near the lake and I went to him to caress him and play a little with him. I really like this picture because the dog in the picture the dog in the photo did not bother with my camera. Is usual that stray dogas run away when you try to take a picture from them, but this one was really quiet.

For me, stray dogs are really special creatures, although is sad that they live on street. I sympathize with them a lot, much more than with dogs with pedigree. Some day I like to adopt a stray dog like the dog from the picture.
I think that is necessary that people understand that dogs needs love and cares.

Cuca and Penelope (R.I.P)

The two last years I had two little hamsters, they were called Cuca (from a joke for The Simpsons) and Penelope. Both were female.
I get them from a persa in Recoleta.
They were diametrically opposed: Penelope was quiet and Cuca was a little messy. The first three months they shared a cage, but one day they started to fight. So, I had to put them in different cages. They slept during the day and played during nights (making a lot of noise, which was annoying to my family).
They were very importante to me, maybe we not played too much, or maybe they didin’t realize my existence, but to me was awesome observe them grow up, see them play in they wheel or hear their howls.
Cuca and Penelope died at the end of last year. They died with two months of difference. Penelope first (in October) and Cuca later (in December). They were buried inside two boxes of matches in the backyard of my house.

My blue bottle

The piece of technology most indispensable in my whole life is my  plastic (but BPA free) bottle.
This bottle arrived to me in Christmas, it was my brother's gitf. He gave it to me because I drink water all day long, but I didn't had a bottle (I used to drink in a mineral water
bottle). I always keep the bottle with me.
I use it to drink water when I'am thirsty, especially in public transport and in university. I keep this bottle in my backpack because I use it every day. I like this bottle because it's size, this bottle keeps 700 cc of water, and I fill it and refills it several times at a day. When I forget to put the bottle in my backpack, I'm very thirsty (and I'm dehydrated too)the whole day, and that's not good because we need water to work well.

The why I want to make films

When I was a little boy, I thought that film makers were some kind of magician. Today, I think that they are a crowd of liars and charlatans... but they have the most entertained job in the world.
Before entering university I wanted to study Teaching because I think that it's the most honorable job in the world. But I decided to being a liar so I  started studying film making.

What changed my mind? One day I had an epiphany and I understood that what I really want is to enjoy my work in the most playful way possible. In other words I want remain being like a child and film making is a game.

Today I'm very glad with my career (although I'm tired all week). Here I learn a lot and met great people.
In the future I want to be film editor and screenwriter. I hope to success.

My autobiography

I'm from Til-Til, a little village north of Santiago.I was born in it, and I've lived there my whole life.
I was born in September 1995.  I used to live with my mother, my grandparents, my eldest brother and my uncle. Today I'm only living with my mom and my grandparents. I have a 3 years old niece called Emilia. I studied in a public school from Til-Til.
I'm in a relationship for 4 years. My girlfriend is a great friend to me.
In my free time I like to read. I like literature and comics. I'm always reading something.
Today, I'm studying Film Making at the University of Chile. The reason why I'm studying this is because I believe that storytelling is a essential phenomenon for mankind. Cinema is a very attractive  and playful way for storytelling.
